Configuring CIM-XML in Cisco UCS


In the Navigation pane, click the Admin tab.

On the Admin tab, expand All > Communication Management > Communication Services.

Select the Communication Services tab.

In the CIM-XML area, click the Enabled radio button.

Cisco UCS CIM XML Default Port

The CIM-XML area expands to display the default Port number, 5988. You cannot change this port number.

Click Save Changes.

Installing UCS Emulator


1. Download latest UCS Emulator by going to :
https://communities.cisco.com/docs/DOC-37827 and unzip the files

2. Download VMware Workstation by going to: http://www.vmware.com/products/workstation and open a virtual machine

3.Navigate to the folder where you unzip UCS files and open VMWare File

4. When your VM Machine ready, this is what you see

5. Open your browser and enter the IP address

Now your ready to access Cisco UCS Platform Emulator Control Panel

6. Launch UCS Manager and it  may ask you to update Java

7. When UCS Manger opens up enter the user name and password
